This summer, the National Board of Trade published a study on protectionism in trade since  1995. The study is now available in printed form in both Swedish and English.

The financial crisis has intensified the debate around protectionism. In the study, ”Open Trade or Protectionism?” the National Board of Trade examines the development in trade policy during the period 1995-2007. Long-term trends in trade policy are analyzed in order to see how openness in trade has changed during this period. Some sectors of particular trade policy interest and the agricultural sector are considered separately.
