Trade facilitation

Trade facilitation is a concept directed towards reducing the complexity and cost of the trade transaction process and ensuring that all these activities take place in an efficient, transparent and predictable manner. It relates to a wide range of areas and activities such as government regulations and controls, business efficiency, transportation, information and communication technologies and payment systems.

The National Board of Trade works to simplify, harmonise and (if possible) eliminate unnecessary procedures and flows of information in international trade. We provide the Government with analysis and recommendations in close cooperation without in close cooperation with other government authorities, organisations and the private sector. We are also actively participating in the global work carried out in international organisations.

The National Board of Trade hosts the secretariat for Swedish Trade Procedures Council (SWEPRO), the Swedish forum for discussion and information regarding international work in the field of trade facilitation. The National Board of Trade also acts as implementer of trade capacity building programmes.
