SWEPRO wishes to put special emphasis on the importance of:
• Safeguarding the trade facilitation features of the AEO programme and
providing meaningful reductions in controls and administrative burdens for
AEO-certified companies.
• Promoting understanding between customs administrations and companies
and encouraging AEO-applications.
This information is presented in the new SWEPRO fact sheet ”SWEPRO Issues in Focus” published by SWEPRO. The first fact sheet gives background information
and a progress report on the AEO programme that became effective in Europe from
1 January 2008. SWEPRO is committed to AEO, but considers that clear trade facilitation features are important in order to motivate companies in the whole of Europe to join. ”SWEPRO Issues in Focus” will be published regularly on the SWEPRO home page.
